A+ Tutoring Services, Inc. (A+) provided after school tutoring services for over 2,000 economically and socially disadvantaged students in Title I schools In New Mexico under the auspices of Supplemental Education Services, a requirement under No Child Left Behind (NCLB). These schools are mainly in Indian reservations, pueblos, cities within 10 miles from reservations and cities with migrant Hispanics. A+ helped schools setup computers in classrooms and labs to raise computer to student ratio. A+ delivered computer based curriculum to remote schools via Internet and manage tutoring program for students who are at risk, score low in statewide tests, and economically disadvantaged.
A+ uses a proven instructional methodology to ensure students make substantial gains in short period of time. This data-drive methodology guides tutors and home-room teachers to implement customized lesson plans to address students’ weaknesses. This program achieves exceptional results. Students advance up to two years of instructional growth in as little as a 35-hour program time.
A+ donated over 1500 refurbished computers to students who successfully completed the after-school tutoring program. Students can do homework at home with donated computers, gain knowledge and experience in computer operations and are nurtured to become life-long learners using computers as an essential tool.
